That’s all you need to create healthy, tasty and nutritious bread.

Tartine’s bread doesn’t need any preservatives because it is made fresh every day.

The only additives we use are natural ingredients to add flavour such as nuts, seeds, dried fruit, vegetables or herbs.

Real bread requires real flour

We use stoneground organic flour from a family-run mill in Holland which contains nutrients and minerals such as zinc and magnesium.

Stone grinding ensures that none of the nutritious germ is wasted and also improves the character and taste of the bread.

Slow bread

Our bread and sweet yeast dough are all made using sourdough culture or a combination of sourdough culture and ‘poolish’ (a baker’s yeast ferment which is made with flour, water and a small amount of baker’s yeast).

It takes an average of 24 hours to develop sourdough culture into a baked loaf.
